Reliance Industries Limited chairperson Mukesh Ambani has finally launched the industry changing Reliance Jio project during the company’s Annual General Meeting. The Telecom Company has finally announced the tariff plans, which will change the current telecom landscape in the country.

Reliance Jio SIM will be available to everyone from September 5, and will offer free services till December 31.

Five Key Takeaways from Reliance Jio Annual Meeting:

The company will only offer 10 plans priced between Rs 150 a month to Rs 5,000 a month, to simplify the schemes for consumers.

The data rates starts from Rs 50/GB, and users will be offered unlimited data usage during night time. Voice calls will be offered free of cost to all Jio customers and roaming will be free across India.

Customers can get a Jio SIM within 15 minutes if they present an Aadhaar card, Ambani said.

Users will also be offered unlimited access to Reliance Jio’s suite of apps, including JioPlay, JioOnDemand, JioBeats, JioXpressNews, JioSecurity, JioDrive, JioMags and JioMoney, etc.

What’s more, the greater the usage, the lower the cost will be, and the rates could go down to Rs 25 per GB.

As you can see in the picture, the most affordable plan starts from Rs 149 per month and offers free voice calls, 0.3GB of data, unlimited access to Jio apps, and 100 SMS. Next in the line is Rs 499 per month plan that offers free voice calls, SMS messages, and access to Jio’s apps and 4GB data per month. The plan also offers free unlimited data at night.

Besides, the plans start with price point of Rs 999, Rs 1,499, Rs 2,499, Rs 3,999 and Rs 4,999 offer 10GB, 20GB, 35GB, 60GB and 75GB of data respectively per month with unlimited 4G data at night and free voice calling and roaming to any network across the country.

Looking at the plans, we can say that Reliance jio is definitely a game changer and will change the telecom landscape in the country. Other operators have already slashed the prices of their data plans, but they are unable to match what Reliance is offering.

As per Reuters, Jio could make the company India’s most comprehensive supplier of telecom and internet services.
