We were recently given a look at an unofficial render of the Google Pixel 2 XL, and after seeing the device in concept form, I’m ready to trade up from the Galaxy S8. I don’t think I’ve wanted a device so badly.

Which is funny, because the original Pixel’s design was derided for being bulky, uninspired, and too plain. But if this concept from YouTube channel Concept Creator is anything to go by, Google’s follow-up will look fan-freaking-tastic. It’s impressive how a little iteration in design can make such a huge difference.

As we saw from the render from Android Police, the Google Pixel 2 XL concept gives us an idea of what the device would look like with an edge-to-edge display, along with a more refined design overall. The subtle curves, polished edges, and vibrant colors really make the design pop.

I don’t know about you, but I’d take that red and black version over anything else; it makes you wish Google offered a bit more variety, rather than just offering a few stock colors. I would guess consumers would be willing to pay a premium to customize the colors if Google offered it.

The concept video doesn’t further the plot of the Google Pixel 2 XL. Rather, it’s simply a look at what to expect based on the rumors we’ve heard over the past few weeks. If this is indeed close to what Google plans to announce this fall, I say, “Take my money!”
