If you are an Apple employee, you will be surprised to know that your Apple login details is worth thousand of euros.
According to some Apple employees in Ireland who spoke to Business Insider, a lot of hackers contact Apple employees and offer them thousand of euros to gain access to their Apple account. Hackers usually target new Apple employees and primarily contact them over email offering them as much as $23,000.
“I could sell my Apple ID login information online for euros 20,000 (£15,000 / $23,000) tomorrow. That’s how much people are trying.”
To counter such emails, Apple launched a new internal scheme called “Grow Your Own.” It is unclear what exactly this scheme is about and why it is called this though.
If an Apple employee gives up into the temptation and ends up selling their login details, it could give hackers details about the company’s upcoming products and plans.
However, Apple employees say that Apple is “very, very careful” regarding security and it is almost impossible for anyone to break into its system. In fact, Apple employees claim that they have trouble remotely accessing the company’s offices in Cork, which shows how seriously the company takes its security.
