Xiaomi has released a list 14 Xiaomi devices that will be upgraded to Android Nougat.
Xiaomi has recently released a list of its smartphones which will get upgraded to Android Nougat. According to a report in a Chinese site IT Home (via GizmoChina), there are 14 Xiaomi devices that will receive the Android Nougat update.
The report also points out that some of the smartphones will be getting Android 7.0 Nougat update while other will be updated to Android 7.1 Nougat.
The Xiaomi smartphones which will get the Android 7.0 Nougat update are Xiaomi Mi Max, Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 4c, Mi 4s, Mi Note, Mi Note 2, Mi Mix and Redmi Note 4X. Interestingly, there is no mention of the Nougat update for the Redmi Note 4, which certainly raises some eyebrows.
The devices that will be upgraded to Android 7.1 Nougat are Xiaomi Mi Max 2, Mi 5c, Mi 6 and Redmi 4X (launched as Redmi 4 in India.)
Almost all the devices of Xiaomi in the market today are still running on Android Marshmallow, except Mi Max which received Android 7.1.1 Nougat-based MIUI beta update in June. The device was launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and MIUI 7, but later got updated to MIUI 8.
Meanwhile, an unannounced Xiaomi smartphone which goes by the model name ‘Xiaomi Riva’ has been spotted on a GeekBench benchmarking website with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The listing has spilt some beans on the expected specifications of the upcoming smartphone.
In the GeekBench listing, the Xiaomi Riva got 560 points in single-core test and in muli-core test it received 916 points. As per the listing on Geekbench, the Xiaomi Riva has 3GB RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon (either 425 or 427) 1.40 GHz quad-core processor. From the specs, we expect Xiaomi Riva could be an entry-level or mid-range smartphone.
There is no information about the pricing and availability of the device as yet, however, given the fact that it has been spotted GeekBench, it will not be long before we see some new leaks revealing the pricing as well. So we request you to stay updated on our website for the same.
